Anywhere is the perfect solution to sending and receiving large files as email attachments. User's of anywhere simply upload their large files into their anywhere account.

Then, using the anywhere client they select the files they want to email and copy link.

Pasting this link into an email message allows the recipient to view the file.

This is called anywhere linking.

Sharing folders is easy with anywhere. From you my anywhere files window select a folder of your files you want to share with your friend.

Click on the access lists button to setup an access list with your friend on it. An access list can contain one or more people who you wish to share with.

Select new and enter a name for your list. After the list appears in the window select update to add your friend.

Select new and enter your friends anywhere account id. Clicking on the ... button allows you to search for your friend by his or her email address.

When done close the dialogs and select the folder you would like to share. Click on the share button and select the access list you just created.

From now on your friend's my anywhere files window will include your shared folder and he or she will be able to download and view the files in your shared folder.

A common scenario today is the desire to share a set of pictures with distinct friends and family. Typically, people email the pictures to everyone at once. This works to a point. Some people have free email accounts and can only mail a few pictures at a time. Others with free accounts run out of space quickly. still others have work email accounts that frown on receiving large attachments that are not work related.

The best solution is to have all of your friends and family setup with anywhere accounts. then you create an access list for them all and share your pictures in a anywhere folder.

Alternatively, you can send anywhere links to the pictures in your anywhere account. Each receives a link to click on to view a file. Nobodies email gets clogged and work concerns are alleviated.

Working at home and the office on the same documents can be a problem to many. Keeping track of which file is the most update after transferring files on floppies can cause a bit of stress.
